Promotion points will be awarded at each qualified event based on the riders finishing position in his/her ability category. Points will be assigned to the top 15%(rounded off) of the riders in each ability category. The total number of riders in each ability category will be the number who actually appeared at the event and were was eligible to start. Points awarded are based upon the Promotional Points Chart (PDF Format).
Promotion to Sport CategoryA Novice category Rider is promoted to Sport category when he/she has accumulated 30 promotional points in any one season (based on the calendar year) or 50 points in two or more consecutive seasons. (i.e. total for his/her racing career). Promotion points earned as a Novice do not carry over to the Sport category
Promotion to Expert CategoryA Sport category rider is promoted to Expert when he/she has accumulated 60 promotion points in any one season or 100 promotion points in two or more consecutive seasons or he/she is the overall winner of an EFTA qualified event.
OtherRacers may race in the Touring class, Singlespeed Class, Tandem Class, or Elite category. No promotion points are assigned for these designations. Racers may return to their previous class or category and resume the previous designation. |
