EFTA recognizes the top NECS racers in all ability groups including Novice, Sport, Expert and Elite categories. Points will be awarded per the NECS points chart in each category/age group at every NECS event, except for the Elite category where the category is the sole division (no age group classes).
In addition, the top 11 female and top 11 male competitors within the combined Novice, Sport, and Expert categories at each NECS event will receive points towards the EFTA NECS overall championship for the season. Since EFTA’s roots are firmly committed to developing racers, the Overall Championship title and eligibility for overall points will continue to be strictly for the Novice, Sport and Expert categories only.
There are ten NECS events for 2008. Only your best 7 scores will count toward the championship ranking. If you finish in the top five of your class for the year (including the Elite category), you will be invited to the EFTA annual awards banquet to be held in early 2009. Awards will be made in 35 individual classes plus Elites, as well as the NECS male and female Overall Champions.
There are 37 EFTA championship award groupings altogether when including the Elite category. There are four age classes for females and six age classes for males per category(except Elite), plus two Clydesdale classes for racers 200 pounds and over (Novice and Sport), open Singlespeed class (male and female), and open tandem. |
