Carrabassett Backcountry Cycle Challenge

Third event of the New England Endurance Series.

Saturday is race event. Saturday evening and Sunday are additional festivities.


The Town of Carrabassett Valley invites you to participate in the 4th running of the Carrabassett Backcountry Cycle Challenge, a mountain bike endurance event. The approximately 100K and 50K courses will cover a great mix of backcountry mountain bike terrain winding through the beautiful, unspoiled forests and mountains of Carrabassett Valley and its surrounding communities, consisting of technical single track, double track and dirt roads, with steep climbs and exciting down hills.

Location: Check-in, pre-race meeting, meals, and/or finish at Sugarloaf Outdoor Center, Carrabassett Valley, Maine.
Directions:
From the South:
Take the Maine Turnpike (I-95) to Auburn, Exit 75 (formerly 12). Follow RT. 4 North through Farmington. Get on RT. 27 North through Kingfield, straight to Sugarloaf. The Sugarloaf Outdoor Center is approximately one mile before the Sugarloaf Access Road on the left. Or, take I-95 North to Augusta, Exit 112B (formerly 31B). Follow RT. 27 North through Farmington and Kingfield, straight to Sugarloaf. The Sugarloaf Outdoor Center is approximately one mile before the Sugarloaf Access Road on the left.
From the North:
Take I-95 South to Palmyra/Newport, Exit 157 (formerly 39). Follow RT. 2 West to Skowhegan. Get on RT. 201 North to RT. 148 West through Madison, to RT. 201A North to North Anson. Take a left onto RT. 16 West to Kingfield, then RT. 27 North to Sugarloaf. The Sugarloaf Outdoor Center is approximately one mile before the Sugarloaf Access Road on the left.
